Tim asked, “You said Ken already used the medallion right? What or who did he become?”
Miranda was just about to point out the window when the back door opened up. A 7 year old girl wearing a pink one-piece swimsuit came in. Miranda quickly scolded her, “Annabelle! You are dripping wet! You know the rules! Get a towel!”
Annabelle replied, “Relax honey. I’m just grabbing some juice boxes for the girls. I’ll just be a second.”
Miranda looked at Annabelle with an unimpressed glare and whispered, “Really?....You just called me honey!...Be careful! Somebody might hear you!”
Annabelle looked over her shoulder to make sure nobody else could hear and whispered, “Oh yea. Sorry about that. I should stay in character!” Annabelle then talked loudly in case anybody could hear and gave a big smile, “Can us girls please have some juice AUNT Miranda?”
Miranda nodded in approval, “That’s more like it Annabelle!”
Annabelle laughed and then noticed Tim. Annabelle’s eyes lit up, “Whoa! I didn’t see you there! Hiya Timmy boy! It’s about time you made it!”
Tim cracked a grin. The only person who ever called him Timmy boy was Ken. Tim whispered, “OMG? Ken? Is that really you?”
Ken nodded, “Yep! I couldn’t let Allison have a birthday party without her favorite cousins showing up.”
Tim couldn’t help but giggle and said, “Wow Ken! I can’t believe that’s really you! How are you holding up?”
Ken replied, “I’m great! It’s a kick being a kid again! It’s been exciting to hang out with Allison as a friend for once instead of her embarrassing Dad. Trust me! You are going to enjoy it too! You will get to see what your daughter Jillian is really like to hang out with.”
Tim got a nervous look, “Wait a second? You mean I’m becoming a kid too?”
Ken then put his hands on his hips and giggled, “Of course you are. And you better hurry up and use the medallion! Allison is starting to wonder why Annabelle’s little sister Ava isn’t here yet. They supposedly flew in on the same flight….Luckily they mailed all their clothes a few weeks ago so they didn’t have to carry them on the plane. ‘Ava’s’ suitcase is in the spare bedroom.”
Tim asked, “Wait a second. Did you say little sister? How old is Ava?”
Ken replied with a wink, “Relax! It’s going to be fun! I better get back with the other girls! Hurry up and put a swimsuit on and meet us out back in the pool!”
Ken took the medallion and went into the spare bedroom. He found Ava’s suitcase and opened it up. He looked at the array of clothing sized for a little girl and couldn’t believe he was about to be younger than his own daughter. He knew it was an important job and would help save the almost disastrous birthday party.
Ken felt his body change and moments later he was Ava. He looked in the mirror to see a curly haired ________year old girl staring back.
