You begin your quest walking along the road when a voice called to him, “Ren you aren’t about to be an adventurer without your good buddy Micah. I even picked up a new spell book to aid us. You never know when a little magic might prove useful. With your sword combined with my magic we’ll be unstoppable.”
A spindly young man hurried up to you. A magic user of questionable ability. A friend from childhood who often got you in trouble rather than out of it. His spells in the past often went awry. Once while trying to light a campfire he caught your pants on fire. Micah proceeded to douse the flames but instead of water an icy blast struck you. You got frostbite from his error. You felt leery of letting him join you. He meant well and maybe he improved since the last time you met.
You said, “Hey Micah sure that you wish to join me? It could be real dangerous.” Your feelings drifted between the desire for company and worry of what disaster he would bring.
Micah responded, “I am in we will make names for ourselves.” His excitement exuded from his silly grin.
You nodded, “Then let’s make our way.” You traveled into the late afternoon before coming across a couple of goblins. Goblins were a race of diminutive evil creatures. You figured this would be an excellent time to test your mettle. Pulling your sword you shouted a battle cry charging them. They turned seeing your youth they thought they were in for easy prey. Micah voice behind you calling forth some magical force.
