Anna looked at the leather bound book. "Archmage Rovarrius's Fantozooilolgical Guide to the Eldritch and Transfigured Races" she read the title, flipping through the pages she saw page after page of illuminated manuscripts with beautiful illustrations. It seemed to be divided into two sections, she flipped to the first page.
It is said that knowledge is power. No where else is this more true than in the field of mystic studies. The mystic races are quite powerful, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The races can be divided into two kinds. The Eldritch or Elder races consist of creatures born with great magic powers or an affinity for the natural forces of the world, the elder races consist of the Greater kind which are marked with great power, such as elves, fae, and, dragons, and the lesser kind which consists of creatures that are born with magical or fantastic features, such as winged horses, centaurs, unicorns, and beastkin. The Transfigured races consist of those mystical creatures that were once normal humans, creatures, or objects, the transfigured races consist of the Undead, which were slain through one means or another and then reanimated through mystic means,such as zombies, ghouls, Vampyres, and spectres, and the Soul-twisted, which have been changed through curses or pacts with deities and Greater Eldritch Races, such as Were-beasts, Golems, Ascendants, and Driders.
