The convoy just passed the Artemes Tau Cluster and are heading to a ruined human colony named Athens. The Convoy is made of 10 Systems Alliance Freghters and 3 Turian freighters. 3 Systems Alliance Almo-class Frigates and the Heavy crusier SSV Venus Based on the York-class crusier but are a diffirent class of ship.
In the safety of FTL the Crew on Venus could have some respit but remained alert because they were arriving soon at the ruined colony Athens. They recived a sub-space emergency hail a week ago of urgent help. The hail was brief and not very detailed but the colony is in inmidient help of supplies after the reapers destroyed the argicultural infrastructure during the invasion. But the reaper are not the problem anymore not sience the crucible fired it´s green pulse through out the galaxy.
The reapers are helping all the colonist´s all over the galaxy. The problem is supplies.
Captain Shaun Quinn looked over the orange holo screen and overseeing status reports of the convoy, he glanced around to see his crew. Concentrated at the task at hand even though they all lost so much during the war. We all did.
Shuan Stod in the command bridge of the ship wich is the most armored part of the ship. It´s logical that the most important rooms of the ship is as deep as possible. But some ships has a secound bridge in case enemy fire penetrated down to the command ops. It was a lesson learned during ship engagements against reapers. Their main weapon could penetrate and cut of sections of a ship at one shoot. But now ship were equpted with shields.
Helm officer: " Comming out in normal space in 20 sec"
"Noted" " Ensign Brigs, inform the frigates to form up in defense position Alpha around the Convoy when we enter Normal Space." Said Captain Shuan Quinn.
" Aye Captain, Opening communications. " Said Ensign Brigs.
Tactical Officer: "Sir, all stations repoting in ready. Weapons systems are green."
"Understood" " No have been here sience the war 2 month ago." Said Shuan.
"Helm when is our eta?" Said Shuan.
Helm: " ahhh, in 20 minutes, it will take us 3 AU´s at safe distance from any debries field sir."
Shuan nodded as they felt the slip into the normal space as he monitored all ships reporting in green.
"Frigates in position sir!"
"Understood, Helm take us 2000 KM in front of the convoy and passive active scan of the system." Said Shuan.
"Why Passive sir? It will only detect a fraction of what´s out there. Active scan can judge better." Said Helm officer George.
In normal cases a Captain would repimand a crewman for question an order when they cant see why it has to be carry out. But the crew was Shuan´s family, they all know each other.
"If there is a potential hostile fleet or pirates out there they will detec our active scan to us, and remember we are escorting a convoy, a tempting target." Said Shuan.
" I see sir, Sorry sir." Replied George.
Crewman: "Sir recommand we send a probe to the colony, in that manner a potential threat wont detect us but we will see what´s around Athens."
"Make it so Leutenant." Said Shuan.
"Sir we detect an anomaly around Athens, about 50 of them. ahh the probe sir. It´s sending information now. " Said a communication officer to shuans right.
The pictures of hijacked frigates and crusiers of diffirent sizes and designs, Turian, Human, Salarian, Krogans, Batarian like ships. They are all heading towards them. Pirates!
Alarms are flareing and the ships lights dimmed to a red glow, and crewmembers rushed around to put on their mag boots and retracteble enviro-suits. Marines are placed out in key areas of the ships. Reports and orders are shooting there and there and in maner of 1 minute the entire convoy is battle ready. Captain Shuan Quinn putted on his enviro-suit in case of sudden un intended depressurization.
"All Staions Reporting in!"
"The Frigates SSV Spirit and SSV Ford taking up flanking position against the pirates!" Said the cheif Tactical officer.
"Understood! Lt. Commander Kelly, warm up the plasma torpedo launchers"! Said Captain Shuan.
"Tactical! Load up the MAC´s and the main missile system." Said Shuan.
Tactical: " Yes Captain!"
Helm: " Hostile ship is taking up some cluster formation? They dont even spread out to flank us or even send fighters, if they have any?"
"Seems like the outlaw scums are dummies after all." Said Lt. Commander Kelly.
" hummm, yeah our missiles will shread them and other targets if they are so packed."
" X-63 Trident fighters has taken up defense around the freighters."
" Fire Salution one two, wide spread at the front attack group. Missile tubes 1-47. And then Fire the MAC in rapid paste." Said Shuan.
