Once she had the device, Rouge quickly realized she could use this for what it was worth. also, it could help her get that chaos emerald and she could run off with it, but she would have to find a way without alerting tails. knowing she could alter her size, or anyone or anything's size, she would test it out on the place where the emerald was being kept. then she would make off without it. but she would have to be extremely careful not to crush it or she'd lose the emerald. so her best option was to sneak out unnoticed and make off with the safe containing the chaos emerald and then she'd put it back to its proper size, but she ran into a problem, she wouldn't be able to open the safe. so she devised an elaborate plan. she'd shrink the safe then open it and once it was open, she'd grab the emerald and restore it back to its proper size. the plan was so flawless that she decided it was worth a shot and it was definitely worth risking. so she set her plan in motion and waited when tails wasn't looking.
