Lilith looks down at the ground, brushing the sand of the street with her feet. "Come inside," she whispers.
You follow the others inside, and take your place at the table. Lilith rests her hands on the surface. You watch as they clutch the sides, then move to the top, stretch out, and move back towards Lilith again. She holds them up and presses her face against her palms. "I went too close to the dungeons today," she suddenly utters, and it looks as if a great weight has suddenly been lifted from her chest. "There was a chase, and I nearly went directly into the hands of a few prison guards taking a break from their duties on the surface. Marcus grabbed me and threw me to the ground, then he realized...he realized who I was, and...he...he hesitated, but only for a second. I...I had to get away. I had to. I wasn't going to be locked away in the dungeons like a common thief. I'm better than that. So I stabbed him with...my knife. I didn't mean to kill him. I just wanted to hurt him so I could get away. I ran, and later today, I heard talk of his murder. They're looking for me now, and they'll find me. I don't want them to find me."
"We have to get out of here," Father says. "They will find us if we stay."
"Hold on," says Mother. "Marcus was once my friend. Only he knew the secret way into the castle through the dungeons. It is in the castle that the Dragons Heart Ruby is guarded, and so it is here,in the village beneath the Dragons Heart castle, that we must stay until we find a better method of completing our original plot."
