She hadn't noticed it during the fall, but the leaves were covered in tiny, barb-like thorns. They had managed to shred what parts of her zero-suit that Ridley's stomach acid, leaving her functionally nude and trapped in the gigantic pile of leaves. Unfortunately, the leaves at the bottom weren't any better and it seemed that the thick maze continued in every direction for an unknown distance.
Samus knew that she couldn't stay there forever, however. Mustering up her willpower, the blond bounty hunter pushed her way through the leaves. Her body, from head to toe was scratched, covered in miniscule cuts. They didn't bleed much, thankfully, but boy did they hurt. The pain was unlike something she had felt before; was it because of the sheer number of slices or was something else at work?
Her question was answered as she finally made her way out of the leafy dungeon. She flopped out of the pile, landing on some soft grass in what looked like a temperate forest. All the trees around were devoid of leaves, presumably the source of the ocean behind her. Worse still, the cuts, combined with what appeared to be some toxic property, had left her tuckered out. Her body refused to move, reducing her to a crawling speed.
