It pained Felix dearly to see the the Basilisk in such a state but if he was to help it he needed understand it.If there was one person in this rotten castle he knew he could trust it would be Henry. Henry was much nicer then most of the other guards that worked there, he even had a habit of sneaking Felix sweets when no one was looking once in a while.

Felix thought to himself "Maybe Henry might know more?"

Felix walked out of the cell and asked Henry" What do you know about Basilisks?"

Henry ponders the question for a moment before saying " Well, I know that the can grow to be over100 feet tall give or take, are carnivores, and for the most part are solitary creatures. They generally live with other Basilisks until they are strong enough to live on their own, after that they tend to make their homes in caves where they live alone."

Felix asks "Wait, if basilisks live together for a while how do they keep their gaze from turning each other to stone."

Henry answers " I don't think the gaze works on other basilisks but some people have claimed they have survived their gaze but I don't know if its true. As much as I hate working for Lord William believe me being a guard under his employ is not much of a step up as you think but it beats being another stone statue in the courtyard if Lord William doesn't smash me for fun first."

Felix armed with the new information in hand tries to piece together the basilisk's behavior. sense Felix took care of it primarily it seem to like him that why attack him when it had the chance, it liked him. Another thing is that people have survived looking into a basilisks eyes maybe, just maybe they could choose who they petrify.

Felix says "Thank you".

Henry says " your welcome and please don't tell anyone what I said about Lord William I could get in a lot if trouble for that."

Felix smiles " your secret is safe with me".

Henry "Thank you Felix, ooohh that reminds me my that daughter birthday is two weeks need to get her something good."

Felix decides too...
