Chapter #3

Cloud Dragon

    by: who-me Author IconMail Icon
The dragon had white and silver scales all over its body. It was on all fours, glaring at Felix. Felix heard a low growl coming from the dragon and saw it was trying to raise its wings, even though it had chains retraining its wings tight to its back.

Felix didn't know it, but this breed of dragon was known as a Cloud Dragon, known for its white and silver scales and its ability to fly higher than any other breed of dragon. This was in part due to their larger wing span, which was about one and a half length of the average dragon breed's wing span. Because of its large wings and sleeker frame, it was also one of the fastest dragon breeds and the best in midair maneuverability.

Cloud dragons were also very fierce protectors of their territory and would not allow any intrusion into it lightly.

Felix felt the dragon's gold eyes glaring at him while he pushed the food off the cart, watching to see if this human would try to hurt him like the others did. With the food off, Felix carefully put the water a bit closer to the dragon when he heard the sound of metal on stone. Without thinking, he fell back, the cloud dragon just missing Felix.

Felix pushed away and stayed low on the ground, terrified of the great beast's sharp teeth.

"It almost. . .It almost . . ." Felix thought then feeling something warm between his legs, he grabbed the cart and took it from the room before running to his room to change into his only other pair of pants.

Meanwhile, the dragon sniffed the mean the human left and didn't touch it further. The dragon moved back to its space, and waited to strike the next human who should enter its territory.

A two weeks passed and not many were as lucky as Felix. Despite more chains being added to the dragon, it still found ways to attack the guards torturing it. Some were not so lucky as others and Lord William merely complained about having to find guards to replace the ones who had died.

But the cloud dragon noticed something about that one human who brought food. First, after a week of not eating, the dragon took the food and realized it wasn't poisonous like it had originally thought. Also, that small human only entered its territory to drop the food and run away.

"It keeps entering my territory," the cloud dragon thought angrily at the human's continual intrusions, "but it doesn't harm me like the others. Is it still scared from when I first pushed him out of my territory the first time?"
