Chapter #5

Most Dangerous Felaryan

by: Bruce Lee Gifford Jr. Author IconMail Icon
Lord William stared down at Felix and smiled due to Felix's obvious fear. "The creature that General Ethan has captured for me is the most dangerous creature in all of Felarya," Lord William replied.

Felix quickly became confused. "Felarya?" Felix questioned.

Lord William's wicked smile disappeared when he saw Felix's fear turn into confusing. Lord William's expression turned into annoyance since he would have to explain what Felarya was. Normally Lord William didn't bother with explaining things to his slaves, they were slaves after all and didn't need to know anything, but Lord William loved torturing and bringing fear into the hearts of his slaves. In explaining Felarya and the creature Ethan had captured, Lord William knew that he would put fear in the slave boy and the boy would more likely be more efficient and cautious in his work, or the boy would be too scared and do a terrible job so that Lord William will have the pleasure of putting him to death or punishing him.

Therefore, Lord William explained, "Felarya is the most dangerous place for humans to go to. It is another world like our own, but its wilder and mostly untamed. Nearly every creature there are larger than humans and eat humans. Even some bugs are be enough to eat humans."

Felix gulped and Lord William could see the slave boy's fear which caused Lord William's wicked smile to reappear. "There is no regard for humans that live in Felarya. Even the large sentient creatures of Felarya eat humans," Lord William continued.

"But, if their sentient, then their intelligent. Why would they eat a human? It would be murder," Felix argued.

"Felaryan don't see things the way humans do here. Felaryan consider beings of their own size people and things smaller than them as food and not a person," Lord William explained, "Since humans are smaller than them, they don't see us as humans. Only as small creatures that could be swallowed whole and can fill their stomachs. They feel that creatures that are that small can't be anything else other than food. They have no regrets eating humans."

Felix was completely horrified by this statement. "How could a sentient being eat another? Even if a sentient being was smaller than me, I'd never eat it. It's murder. How can Felaryans be so cruel and heartless," Felix wondered. For the first time in his life, he had realized there was a place far worse than Lord William's castle and Felix didn't want to leave the safety of the castle and end up in Felarya.

Felix looked at the wooden crate being pushed in the cell by strong men and Felix started to wonder what terrible and cruel monster was in the crate. The men pushed it through the large gates of the cell, about the same size as the main gate to the outer wall, and closed them again. Felix knew the men were opening the crate and fighting off the creature to get it in the chains.

Lord William followed Felix's gaze and said, "The creature Ethan captured is the most dangerous sentient being in Felarya. I will tame it though, and it will be my slave and devour my enemies."

"What is it?" Felix questioned.

"A giant naga," Lord William informed Felix, "But it's different from our giant nagas. These nagas love the taste of humans and once one eats one, they have can't help themselves and have to eat more. Some eat up to five humans a day. Nagas from Felarya are always hungry."

"They also look more human than our nagas," Lord William continued, "Their upper body is fully human as opposed to our nagas that have human structure for an upper body but have snake skin and a snake head. Felaryan nagas have fully human upper halves and a long tail."

"Has this naga eaten a human yet?" Felix questioned. He was worried that the naga was going to try everything in its power to eat him.

"It's too young. It's not large enough to eat a human," Lord William explained, "So it doesn't have the craving, because it hasn't eaten a human, yet. The naga is about five years of age and only about ten feet tall from the head to the ground when upright, but the tail behind it is at least twice as long as its height. Though, the naga will grow quickly. When a Felaryan naga becomes five years of age, they have sudden growth spurts till they grow the proper size for a five year old."

"How large is that?" Felix questioned.

"About seventy feet from ground to head," Lord William stated, "It will be that large within a month and will have random growth spurts till it reaches that height."

The men exited out of the human sized door of the cell and Lord William said, "It's time for you to feed it and bring it water."

Felix noticed the food and water on a cart near the door and Felix gulped. If a five year old naga's true height was seventy feet, how large was its adult size? Felix took the car and pushed it in.
