"Hey, hey (name)!" Chris shout-whispered.
"Huh?" You stirred, slowly opening your eyes.
Chris's enormous face was the only thing in your vision. You scuttled backwards in a bizarre flail, your eyes widened wildly.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to startle you." He spoke, hushed. He probably figured his voice was too abrasive to you normally, however, he spoke so quietly it barely bothered you. You figured since others asked him to speak up all the time it was probably an odd experience for him to be even quieter.
There was a pause before you relaxed and got back your regular temperament.
"Yeah? What is it?" you asked.
"Do you take Chemistry?" he questioned.
"Y...Yeah? Why?" you respond, confused why he would wake you up just to ask that.
He got a bit nervous for a second, you can see his lips purse.
"Can you help me out?" he pleaded.
"You can't go to the tutor?" you complained.
"It's 1 AM. I have it tomorrow, first period..." he trailed off.
You sigh. "What's in it for me?" you contest.
"What...do you want?" he inquires, puzzled.
Oh. You didn't think you'd get this far this fast.
"Nothing. Just keep in mind that you owe me when I do need something." You mutter.
"What? I didn't hear you." Chris states. You groan.
"What do you need help with?" you ask.
"I'll show you." He said, his hand coming for you. You closed your eyes and winced as he grabbed you.
He took you over to his bed and plopped down, being careful as to not drop you, then setting you on the textbook next to his homework. You actually weren't smaller than these words and they were still legible to you, thankfully. Otherwise this would be much more painful.
"So what part is hard?" you ask.
He flusters a bit and tilts his head away.
"Don't make it weird." you interject.
He chuckles softly.
"Balancing chemical reactions. No matter how many times I read it over and try to fix my mistakes, I keep getting it wrong." He admits.
"It's not that hard..." You went on to give him a mini-lecture. This was actually something you were good at, in class. After going step-by-step with him and pointing out his mistakes, he seemed to be a bit more confident.
"So let's go back to this one, the combustion of methane. Y--" you started.
You were interrupted by a deep, guttural rumbling that came from underneath Chris.
"Like that?" He uttered, embarrassed.
You wanted to be annoyed, but it took too much energy. You laughed instead, and he briefly emitted a cackle.
He was able to complete the problem just fine, so it didn't matter.
"So am I done now? Can I go back to sleep?" you yawn.
"Yeah, (name). Let me finish my homework just in case, then I'll bring you back." he affirmed.
"...Sure." you replied, feeling your body start to shut down. Was pacing on the textbook while explaining to Chris really taking such a huge toll on your body? How were you going to get anything done at this size...
You felt yourself beginning to pass out...You awoke
