This choice: Lex Luthor was making a power play downtown in his Kryptonite-powered suit • Go Back...Chapter #3Supergirl squares off against Lex Luthor by: Unknown "Luthor! When will you ever learn!" Supergirl shouted as she arrived on the scene taking in the carnage and destruction sprawled out over the small industrial park Lex was currently tearing through. Lex was ripping through the chunks of wall inside one of the rounded buildings. Piping and concrete were being thrown around as if they were nothing. Behind the building Lex was currently uprooting bit by bit, was a row of devastated, and now twisted remains of buildings clearly showcasing his destructive path. Supergirl gasped and quickly maneuvered herself out of the way a large chunk of concrete spiraling quickly at her. She sighed at the close one and regained her focus on the emerald suited Lex getting into a fighting stance after that close one. "This ends now!"
Supergirl used her heat vision to burn through some pipes located directly behind Lex, which once hit, burst creating a small series of explosions behind the armor-clad villain. It momentarily distracted him, and shifted his balance causing him to break his stance, which was just the distraction Supergirl was hoping for. With her arms out she sped downward creating a path heading straight for Luthor who didn't see what was coming. Tackling him with a force that slammed him through the ground several meters, she floated backwards to regain her momentum and to gather a better visual of her surroundings. Lex was sprawled out in the crated that the impact of Supergirl's heroic tackle had left and was slowly easing himself up.
Seeing the villainous, bald billionaire that had caused her and Clark so much trouble in the past, start to rise to continue the fight, Supergirl was wise off to know her work wasn't done yet. "Luthor, whatever it is you're doing it stops now."
Luthor smirked at the blonde's persistence, "Yes, and you're threatening impositions would indeed be more imposing if Superman were here to have your back. You...heh, you I can handle." Luthor was now back in a standing position and cracked his knuckles, which were also armored up and covered in the metal that adorned the rest of his suit. Pulling his hands back revealed pneumatic hisses as small metallic plates started to shift around his knuckles revealing a dastardly version of brass knuckles, only Luthor's came equipped with eight different pieces of molded Kryptonite, one for each knuckle. Supergirl's eyes widened as she saw the various pieces of alien rock decorating Lex's fists. All of a sudden the tables had shifted and she realized she was going to be in for one of the toughest fights of her life. She couldn't give up though, it just wasn't in her to tuck and run when up against a larger, stronger, and more dangerous foe.
Supergirl grunted and screamed out as she flew downward as fast as could at Lex, all while rearing her fist back to get ready to land a heavy blow to Lex's exposed face. What Supergirl wasn't expecting was Lex was rearing back to land an equally devastating hit. The two were seconds away from impact and both simultaneously let loose with their swings. Supergirl landed her hit full impact into Lex practically breaking his jaw, she could feel the shattering of his jaw and even heard the fractures with her super hearing, but she wasn't quick enough to dodge or defer Lex's blow. His powerful blow to her gut managed to send her reeling backwards into one of the walls Luthor had yet demolished. Supergirl's momentum from Lex's swing was enough to the trick, however, and Supergirl was sent plowing through it leaving only a puff of smoke and rubble. Supergirl felt every bit of force from the punch and the painful throbbing in her stomach wasn't getting any better, most likely due to the green Kryptonite within such close proximity. She slowly stood to her feet, holding her pained midsection and looked at Lex who too was slowly rising to his feet, massaging his jaw. He began to laugh a slow and deep chuckle.
"You hit like a girl," he muffled, blood slowly starting to stream down his chin. Lex quickly cracked his chin and practically leaped at Supergirl, who at the moment wasn't expecting any quick movements from her enemy. She tried to move out of the way but Luthor was just too fast for her this time and pinned the lithe vixen to the ground. Luthor could say her writhing in pain from the green Kryptonite and knew she was going to be mostly powerless to what he was going to do next. He pulled back his right hand, complete with the practical rainbow display of Kryptonite and punched the helpless superhero in her rock hard stomach as hard as he possibly could.
"They say hitting girls is somewhat of a faux pas..." Luthor reared back and slammed his fist into Supergirl's side once more, this time creating a piercing cracking sound. Lex pulled his hand back and examined the Kryptonite adorning his knuckles. It seemed like a piece of the orange Kryponite had shattered and was left sticking inside Supergirl's abdomen. He just shrugged it off, and prepared to strike the heroine once more, but not before finishing his rhetort. "...So I'm just going to have to pretend you're Superman and enjoy this."
"Then I guess you'll just have to settle for us." Luthor's attention was broken and he looked up to see who dared to speak to him like that. Zatanna and Black Canary were standing off to the distance poised and ready for battle.
"I don't usually enjoy beating women, but for you three...I think I can make an exception." Luthor said standing and shifting his focus from Supergirl to the female duo standing to his side.
"I'd like to see you try that. I'd like to see you TRY!" Canary's sentence ended with a loud scream which caused a huge surge of sonar energy to send Luthor flying backwards only to be hurled through another one of the remaining walls of the building the four of them occupied. With that last wall crumbling, a loud rumble and quake was sent through the building, which was losing the support it needed to remain standing. Zatanna looked at Canary signaling her over to Supergirl. Black Canary nodded and ran over and inched the nearly unconscious heroine over her shoulders. Zatanna floated over to where Lex had landed and looked down at the balding millionaire struggling to his feet. A few loose hoses and some steam momentarily blowing out of openings indicated his suit was starting to fail him. Zatanna smirked to herself seeing this.
"Ezeerf sxeL teeF!" The sorceress said as ice started forming around Luthor's feet holding him in place despite his struggling. "You wanted destruction Lex...you got it. Gnirb Eht Gnidliub Nwod!" The last remaining support keeping the broken and twisted building standing upright started buckling into itself. The entire area began furiously shaking and Luthor looked around helplessly knowing what was going to happen.
"You're just going to leave me here to die? Isn't that against the 'Superhero' way?" Lex asked hurriedly.
Zatanna started floating away backwards. "We both know you'll find a way to survive this. If and when you do we'll be waiting...if you're lucky you won't make it." Zatanna let out before disappearing from Lex's sight. All he could do was scream and thrash his arms around as the building came down upon him. The three heroines outside watched as the building fell and just stood there once all that was left was a huge pile of concrete, pipes, dirt, and a large cloud of dust encircling the area.
Supergirl sighed as she knew she was going to be okay. She looked down at her stomach which was starting to heal over now that she wasn't in the immediate presence of the green Kryptonite. The cuts and scrapes from the hits from Lex started sealing up, and unbeknown to her a sliver of the orange Kryptonite was now completely embedded in her stomach. Little did she know the effects that the orange Kryptonite would now have buried inside herself.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
