Feeling like you were taking your life in your hands, you held your breath. 'I was wondering.' You said timidly before pausing, not sure how to ask the question.
'Yeah?' Cathy asked, curiously.
'You know what you just did to Claire?' You said, feeling your cheeks flush red.
'Yep.' Ann replied, wiggling her toes.
'Well...' You started, then stopped again, scared to go on.
'Oh for heavens sake Tom, spit it out will you.' Cathy demanded, growing tired of your stuttering. You took another breath.
'I was wondering what it was like.' You said, finally, not making eye contact and looking to the floor.
'What do you mean?' Cathy asked, confused. 'To have someone under your foot? It's great.'
'Really great.' Ann chimed in with a smile.
'No, thats not it.' You said, your red cheeks stinging now as tghe blood pumped hard to them. You felt your heart beating faster and faster.
'Then what?' Cathy asked.
'Oh my God.' Ann laughed and you had a feeling she had figured it out. 'You want to know what its like to be tiny, don't you?' Cathys eyes widen.
'Is that true Tom?' She asks, looking surprised. You remain quiet, looking to the floor, feeling embarrassed and wanting the earth to swallow you up.
'It is true.' Ann said. 'Just look at how red he's going!' She was pointing at you now, grinning manically.
'But why Tom?' Cathy asked. 'I can't imagine its very nice down there.' She explains to you.
'I don't know why.' You tell her, honestly. 'Its just everytime I see you make someone your toy I can't help but think what it would be like.'
'This is great.' Ann chuckled, making you feel uneasy. 'But why didn't you just get yourself in trouble. You would soon find out that way.'
'Because I was too scared.' You reply. 'I haven't always thought about it, just recently, but I was scared of what would happen if I got into trouble.'
Cathy pauses, studying your face. 'Tom, answer me truthfully, are you asking to be shrunk?' You pause, thinking hard.
'I...I dont' know.' You answer.
'I think he is.' Ann adds. 'I think he really wants to find out what its like to be a toy for someone.' She giggled again, you knew she was enjoying this.
Cathy is patient, letting you think it over.
'I guess I am.' You answer. 'But I don't want you to be mean to me, like you are to everyone else, I just want to see what its like for a little bit, then for you to grow me back.'
'Uh-uh Tommy.' Ann said, shaking her head. 'I think if you go down, you need to experience EVERYTHING. Thats the only way you'll know if you like it.' She was bobbing her sandalled foot, smilling playfully at you. This would be so much easier if she weren't here. But what she said did appeal to a part of you. It also scared the hell out of the rest of you.
'Can't you just be nice and grow me back?' You asked your step mom.
'Tell you what.' She said finally. 'I will shrink you if you want, but you will have to stay that way until Monday - so you'll miss the whole weekend.'
'But...'
'Quiet.' She says. 'Thats the deal. I figure if you don't like it, then that is long enough for you to never want to try it again. Which means you'll always be good.'
'And if he does like it?' Ann asked, still bobbing her foot. Cathy smirks.
'We'll cross that bridge if we come to it.'
You weren't sure you liked the sound of that. You sit thinking - you now have the opportunity to try what you'd always wondered about. You would be tiny, the size of a plaything to these giant women.
'But before you make up your mind, I think I should tell you that when you are teeny....'
