Matt stared at Claire, and decided to try to see even more of her.
Claire didn't know Matt that well, but they'd lived in the same neighborhood for a long time. She saw him across the street, and waved at him in a friendly manner.
Matt pocketed the gun and waved to her. He began going across the street.
"Hey Claire, what are you up to today?"
Claire turned off the garden hose sprayer and shrugged. "I've got the house to myself for a while, then I've got a family picnic later. My dad's two sisters and their families are in from out of town. Haven't been around for a few years."
Matt squinted for a moment, remembering Claire's aunts.
"Daisy? Right?"
Claire raised an eyebrow. "Mmm-hmm..."
"Daisy and..." he continued.
"Daisy and Diana."
Matt nodded. "Diana. Yeah... I think I met them a few years back. Both, maybe. Or at least..."
"Daisy. Of course." Claire finished his sentence.
Matt blushed.
Claire sprayed her windshield again and sighed.
"Every guy remembers Daisy. Her boobs are the size of her head."
Matt blushed again.
"Uh..." he swallowed, "That's the one I met, right?"
Claire's eyebrow went up again, and she laughed now.
"Probably. The one who looks like me, only twelve years older, and boobs twice as big as mine? Yeah, that's her."
Matt nodded nervously. "Then what about Diana? Did I ever..."
Claire looked off into the distance and sighed. "You might have. She's got the same kind of face, only... yeah, I think you met her a few Christmases ago. The really tall one?"
Matt shook his head.
"She's like the tallest woman in my family. She's around two inches taller than my dad? You'd have not forgotten her either, I think."
Matt shrugged.
"Where's the picnic?" He asked.
"Oh, down by the basketball courts, on Beech street. The park there, barbecue pits?"
"Ah." Matt responded.
Claire turned her back on Matt a moment, setting the hose on the ground.
"I'll be right back," she said, going into the house.
She stepped back out with a cellphone to her ear. She said nothing yet.
Matt crossed his arms and thought about the device in his possession.
"You up to anything later?" Claire asked.
Matt was caught off guard. "Uh, well, not that I know of. Why?"
Claire closed the phone, pocketing it.
"Well, my friend Shelly was going to come along, but she got called to work. And, well, I don't feel like dealing with that side of my family by myself. Want to keep my company?"
Matt looked at the scantily-clad, beautiful girl in front of him, blushing again.
Claire smiled.
"I mean, at least so I can have a change of subject when conversation gets uncomfortable?"
Matt laughed a little. "Use me, will you? You just wanna..."
"Yes!" Claire laughed. "They're probably all gonna be drinking, and all sorts of touchy subjects could come up. Will you save me from that?"
Matt put his hand in his pocket, feeling the gun, and nodded.
"Sure." He said.
"Cool."
"One thing..." He added.
"Mmm?"
"Can I ask a really bizarre favor of you sometime, too? In return for this?"
Claire shrugged. "Sure thing."
The smiled at each other for a moment, and Matt patted the growth gun in his pocket.
"So..." He began...
