You scramble up to your feet, determined to explain yourself. The girls both look slightly taken aback by your sudden movement.

"That's not how it went at all," you begin. "I was shooting some hoops when-"

Julia interrupts you forcibly. "Don't listen to him - it's not important what you were doing, Benny!" She turns to Laura, who is standing with one hand on her hip, frowning slightly. "Whatever HE was doing," Julia's eyes meet yours, piercing into you like daggers, "Is irrelevant. Ben, can you deny the fact that just a few minutes ago you were begging at my feet, kissing them like a good little bitch?" Julia's absolute confidence has quickly returned.

She puckers her lips and giggles while you stand there, unsure of what to say. Your hesitation and immediate lack of a denial is enough for Laura.

"You kissed her feet?" the gorgeous friend of Julia practically laughs at you.

You stammer, flustered by both the fact that this beautiful girl is talking to you directly, and because you know it will be difficult to flat-out lie, after failing to deny the truth before. Julia is positively beaming now, knowing that unless you deny this convincingly, she will have won Laura over completely.
