April picked up the necklace with awe. It looked so great, she had to put it on. Thinking about her day, she remembered that she had conned quite a few people. The saying, "I have a bridge I'd like to sell you..." She did sell a bridge. Too bad she sold it to some high school kid who didn't know better.
Thinking of high school, April kind of missed high school. Then again, high school doesn't pay the bills and she'd do ANYTHING to be rich.
But how did she go from high school to being a con artist? With her looks, she could be a supermodel or something. Why did she become a con artist?
The question bothered her. It always had. But she did what she had to. She always got by somehow. Still, she felt like she didn't have any real friends. Like she was some sort of alienated...alien. Oh well, a shot of cheap beer and she wouldn't ponder these questions for a while.
