“You’re right.” Steph said. “Who knows what could happen while we’re this small? At least if we hide we can wait until someone comes looking for us.”
Leading the way due to being the bigger one, Steph and Amy trailed along walls looking for somewhere out of the way and save. A mouse hole, a crack in the wall, even a cozy nook. Just somewhere to ride it all out. Who knows? Maybe this was temporary and they were gonna grow back soon.
“That’ll work,” Amy pointed to a hole in the wall opposite where a brick should’ve been. Not especially comfortable, but it would give them a useful vantage point while they hid from problems. They could’ve done much worse.
Checking left and right, Steph got there first, and helped Amy into the gap, lifting her at the hips. She clambered up afterwards, and the two tiny teens rest against dry cement and various grime, with a perfect view of the stairs where they’d shrunk.
