"No, she isn't," Kristen retorted.

"She is!" Joe shouted back and soon the two of them were arguing loudly in the foyer.

"Joseph, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard," Kristen insisted. "Why don't we just go see the room and get settled in? I think everyone could use a rest."

"I'm tired," Amanda agreed.

Stephen looked at his son. "You're in charge. I'll meet you in the room. I'm going to go talk to that clerk," he said, heading toward the desk and the clerk who had taken them to the restroom.
