As Liz went up to the front desk to check them all in, she was greeted with a warm smile by Chloe, the delightful young bisexual woman who held the 'post' of receptionist. Natalie, Carly and Steven meanwhile all wandered around the lobby, admiring the decor, and in the case of Carly...seeing if she could notice any flaws in the hotel's layout. Frustratingly, she couldn't find any, due to the fact that Moriarty was a stickler for perfection.
"Think they could have been any more subtle?" Steven grumbled unenthusiatically, as he gestured to the 'Merry Christmas' banner positioned more or less above their heads on the wall.
"Grinch!" Natalie laughed, shaking her head.
Steven made no effort to disguise the fact he disliked Christmas, and his friends knew it only too well, Liz and Natalie having worked with him for the past several years. "I swear Steven, if you don't cheer up I'm gonna kill you!" Carly warned him, with a wag of one of her manicured fingers. She then walked off to join Liz over by the front desk.
"Cheer up just a little bit," Natalie then whispered to him, "please!"
Rolling his eyes, Steven then let out a sigh. "I can't promise anything, but I'll try!" he muttered, slipping his hands in his pockets.
"Thank you!" a cheery Natalie then exclaimed, as she smiled at him. Her eyes then eagerly scanned the room and quickly located the entrance to the bar, just before Carly did the same. Both of them loved their drink, Liz drank occasionally, but Steven didn't drink at all. "How about we soak our insides for a bit?" Natalie suggested to her friends.
"You know I don't drink!" Steven told her, a slightly irritated expression on his face.
"Yeah we know that!" Carly interjected. "But I'm game!"
Having finished signing them in, Liz turned around to face them all. "You two can get pissed if you want, me and Steven will take the bags up to our rooms okay" she said.
"Sounds good!" Carly clapped, following Natalie towards the bar.
"Come on luv!" Liz then smiled at Steven, and the two of them took the bags and headed for the elevator. Moriarty of course had observed it all, delighted by the fact that he had some "foreign" guests to play with.
