With Lilly carrying Christie, she and Amy ran to the car, and opened the back door. "We don't have any booster seats," Amy said, "so you'll need to lie down in the back seat for protection."
"Fine by me," Christie replied. "Let's just get there, quickly." She had shrunk another six inches between the camp and the car.
Amy drove, while Lilly tried to explain what was happening to Christie's folks. As they went, Christie could feel the fabric of her shirt rubbing against her skin, a reminder of what was happening to her.
Finally, Amy stopped the car, and she and Lilly practically jumped out of the car. Opening the back door, Lilly said, "We're here, Christie; stand up."
Christie did; and her shirt fell completely off, her body now small enough to fit through the neck.
The girls burst into the ER, and showed them how much Christie had shrunk. She had just enough time to say hello to her giant family before she was brought into an exam room. There, she was poked and prodded, with the nurses taking every possible sample.
