Chapter #5

Two school students

    by: Unknown Author IconMail Icon
As I walked to a school, my eyes fell upon a pair of siblings making their way to school. The older brother, a high school student named Ethan, was walking alongside his younger sister, a middle schooler named Lily. They were chatting casually, completely unaware of the cosmic force that was about to intervene in their lives. I couldn’t resist the temptation to toy with them, to see how they would react—or rather, how they wouldn’t react—to the changes I was about to make.

With a subtle flick of my will, I began to alter Ethan’s reality. At first, it was small changes. His height began to shrink, his shoulders softened, and his voice grew higher in pitch. Lily didn’t seem to notice, nor did Ethan. They continued walking, their conversation uninterrupted. Ethan’s backpack, which had once been adorned with sports team logos, now had a pastel-colored design featuring flowers and butterflies. His clothes shifted too, his jeans transforming into a pleated skirt, and his sneakers turning into cute Mary Jane shoes.

Lily glanced at her brother—or rather, her sister—and said, “So, are you excited for the school dance next week? I heard they’re going to have a photo booth this year.”

Ethan, now fully transformed into a girl, replied in a soft, melodic voice, “Yeah, I think it’ll be fun. I’m still deciding what to wear, though. Maybe that dress Mom got me last month?”

Lily nodded, completely unfazed by the fact that her older brother was now her twin sister. “You should wear the pink one. It looks so cute on you!”

The changes continued as they walked. Ethan’s memories shifted, aligning with his new identity. In his mind, he had always been a girl, always been Lily’s twin sister. The name “Ethan” faded from existence, replaced by “Emily.” Their parents, their friends, even their teachers—everyone remembered Emily as if she had always been there. The family photo albums now showed two girls growing up together, their matching outfits and shared birthdays documented in perfect detail.

As they approached the school gates, Emily and Lily continued their conversation, now discussing the latest gossip about their classmates. “Did you hear about Sarah and Jake?” Lily asked, her eyes wide with excitement. “Apparently, they’re dating now!”

Emily giggled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “No way! I thought Sarah liked someone else. This is so juicy!”

The two girls laughed together, their bond as sisters stronger than ever. They entered the school building, completely unaware of the cosmic intervention that had reshaped their lives. To them, everything was as it had always been.

I watched from a distance, a mischievous smile playing on my lips. This was just the beginning. There were so many more possibilities to explore, so many more lives to twist and turn. But for now, I decided to let Emily and Lily enjoy their day, blissfully unaware of the power that had made them who they were.

You decide to continue to go to a school and find more people to play with.
