Chapter #8

The car won't start.

    by: apoo Author IconMail Icon
"Ugh..." Linda said, hearing her engine sputter, but not start. "Some mud or something had to have clogged something." Linda would be extremely frustrated if the soothing, bright sunlight wasn't pouring down on her.

"That doesn't make sense, I don't think mud ruins cars..." Erin said, slightly frustrated.

"Whatever, I'm not good with cars, but my car has never had this problem before."

"I saw a sign saying there is a gas station coming up, I guess we gotta push it there." Erin said.

"Do you wanna steer then?" Linda suggested. "And I'll push?" Linda only wanted to get outside, so she could be exposed to more sunlight. It was also that she wanted to grow more. If the clinic could fix whatever is happening to her, she wants to get as much growth out of it before she is cured.

"Are you sure you are feeling alright? You have a few more flowers coming out of your hair." Erin said. "And I think that's a leaf..."

Linda pulled down her car mirror and looked at herself. She examined herself a bit, and noticed the tint of green faded from her skin when it wasn't exposed to sunlight. The flowers blooming from her hair were beautiful and healthy, and a few tiny leafs were beginning to grow from her hair. "I actually feel full of energy...which is why I said I'll push for now." Linda said.

"Ok...just stay along the side of the road...traffic isn't too busy, so you should be fine." Erin said, and got out of the car to take the drivers seat. Linda hopped out and went behind the car, still in mud, but not stuck. Linda kicked off her now tiny slippers, and got behind the car, and began pushing. Again, with each step, her feet rooted, giving her the traction she needed to push the car, along with a burst of size, giving her more strength. She tried to stay in the mud as long as she could, but the car slowly turned onto the shoulder of the road, and Linda was back on the concrete. She began to push the car forward, slowly, trying to think of a way to grow some more.

"Why don't we just call a tow truck?" Erin yelled back at Linda.

Linda didn't even think of that. She had to delay some more. "I don't have my money with me. Or my ID."

"I don't have money either, I left it at home..." Erin said.

The road was still full of puddles from the recent rain, especially along the shoulder. The sun was beating down, and Linda felt incredible, as she felt her already small clothes tighten around her. A car sped by, not even giving a second glance to the girls in need, splashing water up and soaking Linda. She gasped, but smiled, feeling the water absorb into her. Along with the sunlight, Linda felt her body grow some more. As she pushed the car, Linda made sure she planted each foot into the puddles she came across. Instantly, the water would soak up into her feet. Her shorts tightened around her waist, moving up and covering less of her growing thighs. Her sweater moved upward, exposing her stomach, and the sleeves inches up along her arm. Her breasts distorted the words on the front of the sweater, as they surged forward.

Erin glanced at Linda through the rear view mirror, seeing her chest in view. A few minutes later, she checked again, noticing her chest was higher and out of view. She glanced again after a few more moments, and saw that her stomach as in the mirror. Erika turned around, and gasped at how big Linda has gotten. "Linda!"

"Yeah?"

"You're huge!"

"I know!" Linda said, smiling. She had passed seven feet in height.

Erin opened the door and ran out to her friend, and gasped. Linda's exposed skin was green, more flowers had appeared in her hair, and the leafs had grown. Her hair was beginning to look like a beautiful rose bush, but still had been mostly composed of Linda's hair, which had begun to turn green as well. "How is this happening, you didn't step in the mud more, did you?"

"At first, but the water and the sunlight is helping me now...I still want to plant myself though...it feels really good." Linda said.

"Linda, you can't, you gotta resist, this could be really bad for you, what if you turn into a tree or something..." Erin said, frightened of losing her best friend.

For the first time in her life, Linda second guessed her growth. "You're right. I need to get myself fixed, I don't know what might happen to me." That was easier said then done. Linda's new plant DNA gave her a very strong addiction to sunlight, copious amounts of water, and the need to root herself. Along with her life long obsession with growth, this would be a hard urge for Linda to fight.

"Look, you get inside the car, close the sunroof, and stay out of the sun as much as possible. I'll push, you steer."

Linda agreed, and got into the car, while Erin began to push. The car was going much slower with Erin pushing, her normal female strength gave her a disadvantage to Linda's new Amazonian strength. Along with Linda gaining almost 80 lbs of mass while she was pushing. "Erin, this isn't working. We need to think of something else." Linda shouted back to her. In the 10 minutes of pushing, Erin barely made any distance, and was already tired out.
