Max had two weeks left until school started, but he knew that he didn't want to be in a store when it was full of parents and kids running around looking for supplies, so he and his mom went shopping early. He was still a bit groggy from waking up and filling himself up on breakfast, but he had a list of needed supplies so that he wouldn't struggle to remember.
"Pencils, check. Paper, check. Binders, check. We got those books you're going to have to read, so...I think we're all set!" Theresa said, looking at Max's list. "Do you need any new clothes, honey?"
"Everything from last year still fits, I think," Max replied with a definite air of boredom. "We might as well get some while we're here, I guess. I think I just saw someone I know over there. I'm gonna go say hi, so can you just grab a couple pairs of jeans and some shirts maybe?"
Theresa sighed at being given the task to do on her own, and had to guess Max's size. She unknowingly grabbed some pants that were a size too big, and a medium button-up shirt, as well as some regular t-shirts. While she was doing this, Max had actually made his way to the food court instead of to see a friend.
Stopping in front of a Chinese food place, Max placed a pretty sizable order considering he had just eaten his fill of breakfast an hour earlier. "Man...I love this stuff," he aloud to nobody in particular as he dug in to his meal.
