Franz was disgusted. Disgusted at how the enemy had acted. Turning away from the bag, Franz said with disgust, "I cannot believe they sent us such a thing."
"What?" Knoll the party's shaman was insulted. "This is amazing! I never thought I'd ever stumble upon one of these in my life, and yet you insult it as if it was waste!"
Franz turned back to the stranger he had met only recently. "Look. I don't hold anything against dark magic, but this is ridiculous! Who on earth would ever need a size changing scroll? Obviously the enemy had sent it to us just to add yet another burden." His mind went to Leon, the mysterious traitor to the lands.
"We do not know if this is indeed sent to us my the demon king's host." Knoll almost spat out the words. He was clearly furious at the young knight's attitude. "And size spells are not worthless. If you were ever to be faced against one, you would know."
Franz made a face at Knoll and looked around the nearly empty camp. "Nobody cares about such a thing! How why don't you just take the item and sell it to that merchant? We can use the gold." He turned and headed back to his tent. He did not trust the newcomer, even if the Lord's had approved of him. Kicking the ground with his boots as he went, Franz decided that dark magic was no good at all."
And then, the sound of magical words being spoken started from behind him. Franz turned and faced Knoll, in time to see the shaman furious and casting the size spell by reading off the strange letters and symbols.
"Ah lacka sishma so!" The shaman's eyes turned purple. The spell was obviously launched on him and Franz began to look for cover. He hadn't meant to upset the shaman this much. Magic was a powerful force to deal with and Franz did not want to be the one caught in the middle of everything.
Alas it was too late. A beam of purple lighting darted from Knoll's fingertips striking the innocent cavalier and launching him a few inches into the air. Smoke appeared and quickly disappeared. Within moment the spell was done. Knoll smirked and walked away.
Moaning from the pain, Franz sat up on the ground. He had fallen over from the force of the dark magic. His mind was blank on what was going to happen to him, or what the spell really did to it's users, but in his mind, Franz knew he was about to find out.
