Now that he knew where he was Gary couldn't stand another minute of dimly lit solitude and ran over to the nearby escalators. Soon he was once again breathing fresh air and basking in the warm sun. It was a bittersweet welcome to be back on the surface though, as the landscape before him showed. Cars were driven onto the sidewalk, fires were burning freely, and more then a few corpses lined the empty streets. Gary felt as if he were on another planet, everything was so different then it had been just a few days before. Gary looked around at the wrecked city that stood before him. Had everyone else been killed? Was he the only survivor left? He tried not to think up any answers to those questions. As he walked along he noticed the road up ahead was blocked by a damaged police car. Gary could have easily walked around it, but felt he needed to investigate it. On the front hood he noticed an R in a circle that looked as if it had been spray painted on. It was certainly odd, yet it also gave Gary hope that someone else might still be alive out there. Gary opened the front door only to have a severed head roll out onto the street. He would have screamed had he not been so shocked. Just as he was about to move on he noticed something shining in the back seat. Careful not to disturb any more mangled body parts Gary reached back and grabbed it. What he now held in his hand was a brand new hand gun. After looking it over Gary was sure it wasn't standard police issue, someone must have left it here. Feeling a little more optimistic Gary put the gun into his pocket and continued walking home. After five more minutes had passed he came to the road that lead to his street, he was almost home! Unfortunately, a wrecked semi was laying across the road. What now?
