"Eh? Well, you said practical purposes. I guess... like shrinking the sofa so that you could clean under it? Or... shrinking furniture so you could move it easier? Or even shrinking yourself a bit so you could fit into a small space?" you suggest. "Would it work on living things?"
"That's the interesting point. I don't know how organic matter would would react to such radiation. It may work, it may not. It would be good to find out!" she says, suggestively. "Uh, yeah. Why haven't you tried it out yet? You could always try it on yourself! I'll help if you like!" you say, trying to put her mind off what you think she is thinking. That suspicious grin appears on her face again. "See, that's the problem. If I shrunk myself, the device would be too big for me to handle, and I would be stuck at a small size." she explains.
"Well, I could always re-grow you!" you suggest. But Miss Blake looks sceptical. "But what if it didn't work? I might die! Then I couldn't be around to finish it!" she says, walking over to the device...
