Ryan walked quickly from the room, heading down the hallway. The cool stone walls felt good, for he knew that it would get much hotter in the day. It was like that in the southern lands, not too mention how far it was from his home. Not that anyone but his wife would miss him. His mother-in-law worried about him constantly, and that he would get Kopri hurt. But she needn't worry about that.
Up ahead other warriors gathered around the roster to see their names. He leaned against a wall and waited patiently. There was no need to push his way foreword.
Tyger walked past him, and paused, narrowing her eyes. "You will die at my hands, human." she said stiffly, before continuing past him. He followed her with feirce eyes, but said nothing.
As the warriors thinned, he walked foreword and glanced at his name on the roster. 'Damn.' he thought, seeing that he was first. And who he was fighting.
