Elise's eyes slowly fixed on Tyger's and she felt a shiver run down her spine. Tyger's lips were fixed in a snarl and her tail twitched back and forth in warning. She pulled out her twin dirks and got into her fighting stance, waiting for Elise to make her move.
Slowly drawing her sword from her sheath at her hip and the dagger from the leather binding at her calf she stood at least five meters away from Tyger, waiting, watching, ready...
The sand in teh grand area was tossed by the scant breeze, the voice's of the villagers packed into the high rise seats fell to deadly silence. Tyger roared and launched herself into the air. Elise looked up and was blinded by the sun hiding Tyger's form as she came down and struck Elise on her shoulder. THe blade bit into her flesh and Elise cried out and pushed Tyger off of her.
Tyger hit the ground and jumping to her feet slashed the air with her dirks, her face twisted into a snarl. Her eyes narrowed on Elise. Elise's blades cashed against Tyger's dirks and the blades locked together. Elise pushed against Tyger's unwaining strength.
"You're not bad." Tyger growled while doubling her force. Elise sharled at her and pushed her back and dropped to the ground and swinging her leg out she knocked Tyger flat on her back. MOving quickly Elise sat on her chest and punched Tyger hard on her face. Tyger growled like the predator she was and locked her hands together and slammed it hard on her ELise's chest. Elise gasped as it felt like the air had been knocked from her lungs. Swinging her locked fists across Elise's face knocking her off of her.
Tyger got to her feet and kicked ELise hard in her stomach. Elise gasped loudly and clutched her stomach and balled up, her hand digging into the groundas she struggled to breathe. Tyger walked around her, taking a few moments to rest and catch her breath. Elisemoved quickly and locked her fists together and pulled them over her head for added force and struck the ground once.
Tyger looke around her confused as the ground rumbled and it spread like a shock wave from ELise and the shaking ground caused Tyger to drop. Elise got to her feet and moved her arms quickly causing the sand to shift blocking Tyger when she tried to rush at her. Tyger slashed through the snad barriers only to have them replaced by more.
"Come on and fight me!" Tyger yelled flining her arms in aggitation. Suddenly the barrier next to her dropped and Elise jump kicked her sending her flying backwards until she hit the ground hard on her back. Elise stood before her in her stance waiting for Tyger to get up and yet she remianed still. THe crowd cheered KILL HER, KILL HER, KILL HER. Elise looked around her at the people and then at the shadow ladden area of the seats that was elaborately decorated and furnished.
She could see a pair of glowing red eyes watching her, eyes she knew belonged to Calarith. The crowds cheering died down and silence filled the arena as the gong sounded out once. Elise closed her eyes as it sounded out again and again. It was the call for death. THe order to kill. THe crowd broke into cheers again and Elise sheathed her sword and picked up her dagger and walked over to Tyger's unconsious form adn stood over her, dagger pulled back ready to make that killer blow when again the crowd fell silent, waiting for her to strike.
Elise looked down at her and taking a deep breath sheathed her dagger in its tough leather binding. The crowd watched stunned that she had dared defy the order to kill and they watched as the gurds rushed out and pointed at her with thier shimmering blades.
"You." THe leader called out in a gruff voice. "You were given the order to kill this gargoyle." He said while kicking her still unconscious form.
"THen you do it." Elise hissed. "I have no desire to please your lord and master." The head guard moved towards her and placed the tip of his sword at her chest.
"ELISE, SHE IS MERCIFUL, LET HER LIVE!" A man from the crowd shouted. Cheering broke out and they chanted LIve, live, live. THe guard looked around him unsure as to what to do next. He looked at the shadowed seats for assistance. THe crowd's voice's slowly died down and the gong rang out once. THe crowd cheered again and clapped and yelled loudly. Elise starred defiantly at the guard and stepped past him and walked towards the doors that would lead her back to the other slaves. Despite her defiance, she had been given permission to live.
