As the enormous sea witch propelled her fifty-foot bulk across the sea floor, her gigantic tentacles sweeping up mouthfuls of small creatures for her to consume, Ursula looked around for someone to share this power with. Every now and again she was distracted at the spectacle of her new power, whole families of whales fleeing her approach and another chuckle rumbled forth from her lips as she relished the might her several-galleon sized body brought her. She paused in her travels as her thoughts were drawn to a possible candidate, one that made her shiver with glee.
When Triton was a young king the mer-city of Atlantica had been threatened by another, an enormous she-white shark of incredible physical power. She was an apex predator that preyed on the mer-people themselves, keeping the whole city locked inside their homes at night as they feared the spectacle of the white huntress, the nineteen-foot mer-shark stalking the streets at night. She would always flee when Triton neared, for only he could match her power with his trident but he could not patrol the entire city alone. Eventually the entire force of the city was able to trap her against a reef and Triton was able to shackle her with the trident's power, banishing her to these desolate lands and saving the city from her depraved predations. Now, Ursula was certain she could break the magical binds holding Lilith in place, and with her elixir could grant her power she had never known. Her loyalty would be ensured through her hatred of the mercity and her might would be an incredible aid in conquering the city.
Ursula's gleeful grin shrank as she considered the risks, however. Lilith might be completely bloodthirsty by now and while Ursula was sure she would be able to defeat Lilith if she tried to attack her, she wanted to rule Atlantica and not annihilate it. If Lilith consumed every living merman and mermaid there would be no people for her to govern with an iron tentacle.
Another option presented itself as the multi-ton sea witch spotted a she-whale in the distance, a fully half-whale half-woman creature. She recognised her as Melody, a woman of Ursula's age who was even fatter than the sea witch. She had an enormous pear-shaped body, a great gut that hung low as she swam and a huge rump that rippled as her powerful tail propelled her through the water. Melody was a glutton of the highest order, a thirty-foot titan of greed that had nearly driven Atlantica to starvation. Triton had exiled her and her two daughters for their unrestrained appetites and while this ensured Atlantica prospered Melody had grown angry and with the wider ocean's delicacies available had grown even fatter. Melody was motivated mainly by her appetite and would be far easier to control than Lilith, and was a woman after Ursula's own heart as the witch smirked and slapped her prodigious belly. She could recruit Melody right now, or travel to where Lilith was imprisoned...
