It was a beautiful morning at the barnyard. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Peck let out his pathetic cockle doodle doo. Today was going to be a good day. The Farmer had left for the annual Corn Convention so the animals had the farm all to themselves. Abby yawned as she rolled out of her haystack bed. She stood up and looked out her window. Many animals were already up and going about their daily activities. But Abby didn't know what she wanted to do today. She thought about it for a while but ended up deciding to go take a walk through the cornfields.
A walk through the cornfields was always enjoyed by Abby. She liked being alone and able to think freely without interruption. But something caught her eye off in the distance. Throgh the cornstalks she could a patch of PURPLE corn! She ran over to the corn amazed at their bright color. "This must be the corn that the Farmer tested that new fertilizer on," Abby said to herself. "But I wonderwig purple corn tastes better." Abby picked several ears of the oddly colored corn and prepared them for consumption...
