You gasp, your eyes nearly popping open and your body heaving upwards. Many things flows through your head and it causes you to roll back to the ground, writhing in pain.
'Hello, Baren...you might be wondering if this is a dream...'
"Urgh!"
'...but it's not. You also might not want to accept the reality that you, yourself is part-demon but it's true. Feel it in your heart and understand that this is why your father could not get remarried because...there would be nobody better than her.'
"S-stop it!" you scream, grabbing your head.
'...I've implanted this message so that you're not terribly lost but it's time you start finding your own way. Your father will manage alone. As for you, it would be wise to start looking for a new family, a place to live, a place to love. Just find anyone, there's plenty of beautiful women and mothers in New York. If you will them to be your mother, they will treat you exactly as their son and being the demon you are, you can take advantage of that...and more.'
You grunt, the pain starting to lessen and trying to get yourself back on to your feet, you curse everything on to Lily who had turned your life upside down so suddenly.
'For now, goodbye my sweet nephew. We'll be seeing each other again'
With the last message in your head gone, you felt the pain subside completely and in its place, anger...humiliation...fear.
"Fuck!"
Cursing out loud, you breathe heavily and watch a column of light spill from where you are standing. Between two buildings and hearing the bustling noises of cars honking and foot traffic, you couldn't help but feel certain that Lily's words rang true: Somehow or another, you were transported to New York, far from home.
Away from your lonely father.
When you wished to leave, you didn't intend it to be like this.
First, what should you do? As it is now, ,you probably look like a wreck but with no money, no connections in New York, could you really believe what Lily says?
You place a hand to your face and groan.
'A...mother, huh?'
Lily had unlocked what little memories of your mother you had which was to say, not much. What is important though is the feeling of being nurtured and loved within the short span of time before she passed away.
This gives you a taste of what you now realized you were missing, yet...how could you indulge in someone else being your mother? What was the point of that?
Maybe you are missing something, but whatever powers Lily bestowed to you might be your chance to survive in this city.
