This choice: How to Train Your Dragon Shrink • Go Back... Being a normal Viking is tough enough. Imagine having to do so while small enough to fit in the palm of someone's thick, meaty hands. Freaky, right? Anyway, let's explore this premise a little.
Hiccup is not only scrawny, but he's smaller than his father's giant fingers. And no, having a father named the Vast doesn't make this any easier. The boy can barely even lift up a dagger, let alone a bucket of water, or anything else useful. And no one will give his inventions a chance. What is a tiny Viking to do?
Astrid has never let her size get her down. She constantly strives to prove herself, and often succeeds. She's actually able to lift a bucket of water for the fire brigade, she's quick-footed as a messenger, and most Vikings respect her durability. Even so, she'll never really be 'normal.' And now that she's hit puberty, there might be more things the clan expects from her.
Toothless is a Night Fury, making him one of the most feared of all the dragon species. Although small, he packs a deadly punch that shreds most Viking defenses. And on top of his color making him almost impossible to see, his size makes him almost impossible to hit. Why, only a stroke of godlike luck would allow any weapon to bring him down, and what are the odds of that? Also, Toothless can be feral or a dragonoid, with options for a tiny Hiccup as well.
Stoic the Vast is more than just an intimidating title, it's hilariously ironic, given that the guy is small enough to fit in a boot. Even so, the man is positively deadly on the battlefield, and his booming voice ensures that everyone always listens when he speaks. Let's follow him as the present chief of Berk, or roll back the clock to his youth when he wasn't such a beast, and still wanting to date Valka. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
