Even with the existence of such technology in the world, alcohol seemed to be the thing a lot of people still turned to to (temporarily) get rid of their problems. You just couldn't go home to face your wife just yet, instead you stumbled into a bar and lazily parked your ass on a stool...ordering a straight whiskey. "Son of a bitch!" you thought, picturing your former boss. Suddenly the launching of your lunch tray at him didn't seem enough, you ought to have beaten his ass.
"You look like...you just got dumped!" the bartender said to you, as he poured the drink you had ordered.
"Try fired!" you grumbled back, exhaling deeply.
The bartender shook his head. "Too bad buddy, sorry to hear that" he mumbled. He then went to serve another customer, before returning to give you a second drink. He then leaned on the bar and looked around sheepishly, before starting to talk again. "Um...I think I may have something you'd like" he said.
"What's that? A semi-automatic?" you responded, downing your drink.
The man smiled, then reached under the bar and retrieving a weird looking device. "Way better than that my friend, this is one of the new TF-5000's, fresh off an assembly line" he said, as he gestured to the device.
You eyes grew wide at the sight of the thing, shortly before the guy slipped it back under the bar.
"A portable transformation ray?" you blurted out in surprise.
"Sshhh!" the bartender said, hushing you as he kept looking around the bar. "I shouldn't even have these things, they're smuggled, I've got one myself" he said. He then went on to remind you that such devices had been banned from being produced because they were dangerous in the wrong hands. "I'm giving you a once in a lifetime opportunity my friend, with this thing you can get back at your boss, and of course you'd be doing me a favor by taking this thing off my hands" he said.
After giving it a moment's thought and downing another drink, you turned to the smiling bartender. "How much??" you asked him.
"$3,000!!" he stated.
You sighed, realizing that would be all your savings and Carrie's too. But you knew that with such a device you could turn anyone into anything you wanted, other people or inanimate objects, and that did sound appealing.
