You've been sleeping a long time, encased in mud long ago, nature somehow preserved you in some sort of stasis rather than killing you. You had been hunting when the earth suddenly shook from a mighty blow, the earth trembled and gave way as the vast wall of mud and stone that rose above you collapsed, burying you beneath it. It had been a long time, thousands of years had passed and the ocean tirelessly worked to free you, the currents eroding the hill of mud and rock, dragging it free mote by mote. The work was near its end though, you were free, and even now could feel the currents soft caress bidding you to wake. For a brief moment the memories flashed before you, you were not alone, there were others who were buried, but they were not your worry now. Your worry now was hunger, a deep hunger that was eating away at you, driving you mad.
However the world provides, especially for those it requires. You awaken to soft laughs and titters, and as you open your ancient eyes, untouched by light for so long, they begin to come into focus.
