As you think this over, the sentries lead you up a spiraling stone staircase, and the unpleasant sounds of the dungeon slowly fade behind you.
Of course, they believed you! You feel a little silly about thinking otherwise as you exit the staircase into a rather elaborate corridor of polished stone and intricate tapestries. The guards stop in front of a nondescript stone door, opening it inward, and gesture for you to enter, which you do.
The room is dimly lit and unadorned, but far nicer than any room you've ever taken quarter in! Glancing around you see a litter of comfortable-looking pillows and blankets, a stone table with an assortment of food spread over it and several aromatic candles burning. And in the corner a brass bathing vessel and three scantily clad women! How delightfully unorthodox!
The door closes behind you and the three women approach, wearing only the slightest silken skirts and adorned with every manner of jingling body jewelry. They have the full, dusky figure of Thok harem slaves, and their deep, green eyes stare seductively above their shimmering veils. What luck! Old King Durian certainly knows how to treat his loyal subjects!
The women slowly surround you, pressing their ample bodies into yours while their fingers dance lightly over your aching muscles. They lead you over to the waiting bathing vessel, redolent with soothing oils and aromatics.
You are lowered into the steaming waters and treated to an extravagantly sensual bath and massage. One of the women decants a sickly sweet liqueur and raises it to your lips. In a haze of relaxation you are about to quaff the liquid when that old familiar sense of danger starts buzzing in your head. This treatment, though immensely welcomed, seems very at odds with what you've heard about Rylestia and its tyrant king. Though it may simply be a method of enticing love and allegiance from foreign mercenaries, a very effective method at that!
