On their first night in the dorms, before classes had started, their R.A. wrote William and Greg up for a noise violation. William decided it was time to get back at him, and this seemed like a fun way to do it. He talked it over with Greg and they debated the best way to get the fat onto him. Greg researched the spell and discovered that the fat could be transferred, in small amounts, and for a limited period of time, to objects. When the next person touched the objects, they would receive the fat. The process was complicated and took time. In order to do it, they'd need to break into Ben's room and be uninterrupted for an hour.
The easier way, William thought, was just to bump into him while he was in the shower. But then it would be fairly obvious who did it. Greg would agree to that only if William acted as an intermediary, and was the one who carried the fat to Ben.
