So, the morning began like most. Once I'd showered and washed my hair, and after it dried, I took my hormone pills and got dressed. The pills seemed to be affecting my privates, as they were smaller than they'd been when I started on this journey. Who knows, I thought, maybe I'll luck out and get the full enchilada early? Soon, I was ready for my morning run.
First, though, I had to hug and kiss my baby brother, Sam. Maybe I shouldn't call him baby, since he's 18 months old, but Mom and Dad still call him their baby, so I guess it's okay.
I stuck my earphones in, turned on my mp3player, and set off. Once Lady Gaga started playing, I zoned out, looking only to make sure I didn't accidentally head into traffic, as I ran alongside the highway.
Like I said, I found it pretty easy to lose track of the world around me as I ran, but one sign caught my attention. I ran in place, trying to decipher it. I'd never seen it before, and with good reason: It was miles from my house.
I looked at the sign. Then I looked at my watch. Then I looked back at the sign. Then, I dug out my phone, to doublecheck the time, in case my watch was broken.
The phone confirmed it. I had somehow run 60 miles in half an hour.
