"...I think you've had your fun. I'd like to restore myself to my former height if you don't mind. Can you show me how it works?," Karen said reaching for the remote.
It was pretty funny watching mom in her current state. In her small hands the device appeared to be some goofy toy. Karen's movements seemed clumsy, like she was still adjusting to her new stature. Too bad she wanted to grow back so soon.
I told her how the remote worked, it was pretty self explanatory. Flip-switch and fire button that's all. Mom listened carefully, nodding a few times watching the device in her hands as I talked. I did catch her looking up to my face a few times. Had she noticed my disappointment or did she catch me looking down the collar of her oversized shirt?
"Okay, let's see how this works. You better back away a little," Karen said putting the remote in front of her on the table. I sat down on the stool across from her. With one hand she held the device while the other reached for the button.
"Wow!," mom jumped up a little as the beam hit her. I watched as her small body began to change. "This feels great," mom said. She smiled as the folds on her shirt began to fade.
Though I loved seeing Karen shrink into her clothes, seeing her fill them up again was just as much if not even more exciting. In less than a minute she was back to her former height.
"There, much better," mom said, adjusting her shirt. Back to normal, guess I had to find something else to do with my remote. "Well I think I better...," I began to talk. "Wait Matt, we aren't done yet," she said, looking at me frowning. Great, now she was mad at me for shrinking her.
"My turn for fun now!," Karen fired the remote. A big smile on her face.
