Happy to take your own body out of circulation for a while. You want to rent a new body, you're happy for Bodies Inc. to keep your real body in cold storage. There's a few jobs you need to do, that you can't trust anyone else to handle. You grit your teeth, as you look at the scanning booth.
You try and tell yourself it looks like an enclosed bed. It's safety and security protecting your empty body. But it really looks more like a coffin. The tighter they can pack you in storage, the higher their profit margins.
Carol the receptionist, ensures you repeat the details back to her. You find the range of bodies that you can wear, are low for options. It's a damned popular set. You smirk, as that's part of helping you fit in. The idea of taking over a force-grown clone body doesn't thrill you. It's different enough that you hope people won't be able to tell it's a clone. The instincts of the body will remain to guide you, like training wheels. Again you nod to Carol's words.... "Yeah... training wheels... personality transplant."
A small tattoo behind your ear will mark it as a clone. You hope it doesn't feel too weird.
Carol offers you a tablet. Swiping your finger, you confirm the deal. Stepping back, she allows the door to swing shut on you. It's laminated Sapphire glass, as strong as tensile steel. Above your head, a steady whine rises in pitch and volume, as it prepares to scan your brain.
A Click.
It feels as if you're brain is being drunk. Your eyes become heavy, your body sluggish and distant. Carol fades to black and white. Your vision circling into blackness.

The next moment, you feel someone gently patting your cheeks. "Wake up..."
Your eyelashes flutter, then snap wide. You've been re-sleeved.
