Alex Hunter sat near the back of the bus looking out the window at the blue sky dotted with white puffy clouds. "Hey! Alex look it's the temple." Alex looked at his friend Diana, then he turned his gaze to where her finger was pointing at. Indeed there was the temple, large imposing, and crumbling it was still a sight to behold. From what he read this temple was used to pray to a certain god but other than that most of it's history was shrouded in mystery. He was hopeful that he would solve the mystery of this place. Alex had been studying all forms of ancient language so he was well versed in all of them. He watched as they got closer and closer to the temple. The temple wasn't as big as a normal aztecian temple but the answer to that might be inside.
--A few minutes later--
Alex grabbed his backpack from the bus' cargo compartment and slung on the 25 pound backpack onto his shoudlers. Next to him Diana was doing the same though her backpack was lighter than his. The teacher, a Mr. Wormwood, told them to gather round, then he explained that they were to remain in pairs. He also told them not to explore the deeper parts of the temple as the archeologists were still excavating that part of the temple. He also told them to be wary of spiders as they might be poisonous. With that he let them go, Alex looked at Diana, "Well then shall we go?" He asked, Diana smiled and she nodded. They both entered the temple behind everybody else.
Alex was overjoyed to explore even a little bit of the temple for he was able to decipher most of the messages with ease. He had so far gathered that like all other temples this was for a god, however interestingly enough a goddess as well. What kind of god and goddess they worshiped he had no clue since the text mentioning that was a huge hole in the wall... Alex however had to know, and the only way he would find was by going deeper into the temple. He looked at his friend, "Hey Diana wanna come with me to explore the deeper parts of the temple?" Diana looked shocked.
"What!? Why?" She asked hurridly.
"See I'm trying to figure out what kind of deity these people worshiped but in order for me to do that I need to get into the deeper parts of the temple. Come on we'll be in and out so quick nobody's gonna notice." Alex said. Diana hesistated...
