“I’ve waited this long,” Analise mumbled, “I can’t wait! I have to drink this now!” She put her mouth to the drink to her mouth and gulped the formula down in one go.
Badalise stood behind her. “Uh,” she started, “you sure, uh, drank that quickly.” Analise shrugged. “What can I say,” she said, “I was excited.”
Analise looked towards the door. “We should probably go home,” she said, “hate for someone to find us here.” Badalise sighed. “Fine,” she begrudgingly mumbled. “Let’s go.”
As they left, Badalise took one last look around. For once, she was concerned about Analise. She seemed… too enthusiastic about everything. What if something went wrong?
But there was one thought that calmed her.
She knew the risks.
Analise got in her car and waited for Badalise to get in. She was taking an unusual amount of time. “And you say I’m the slow one,” she mocked. Badalise shot her a look of clear annoyance, but didn’t say anything.
As they drove, Badalise attempted to start a conversation. “So,” she started, “uh, you seem… happy. Genuinely happy.”
“Can you blame me?” Analise replied. “I’m finally achieving what I wanted for so long! And it only took my entire life…”
Badalise rolled her eyes. She did catch herself smiling in the rear view mirror. Badalise didn’t mind. Something to keep her mind off of Analise was good enough for her.
After a bit, the two returned to Analise’s apartment. They both walked up to the door and entered.
Analise sat on her bed. “You look tired,” Badalise said. “Why don’t we get some shut-eye?” Analise nodded. She was feeling quite tired. Quickly changing into her pajamas, Analise crawled into her bed and closed her eyes.
Badalise watched her, before she too felt herself drifting off.
Unbeknownst to both of them, something was happening in their slumber…
