Naruto actually froze up when he hear the pink-haired giant's reply. Did she basically just say yes? He pinched himself once just be sure he wasn't dreaming, and the brief pain he felt confirmed he was in fact wide awake.
He had just asked his crush out to lunch after striking out for four years, and she finally said yes. Now it was time for the blonde to pump his fist in victory. "Awesome, I know just the spot! Follow me!"
Naruto then started running off with Sakura simply shaking her head at her teammates over abundance of enthusiasm. He was acting as if he'd won the lottery. Why did she have to be partnered with him?
Shaking off her annoyance she followed behind as slowly as possible. Her footsteps actually made him stumble a bit as he hadn't braced himself for the tremors, but quickly recovered.
"Sorry." Sakura apologized. That was one of the biggest downsides to her size, walking next to people meant they had to brave a mini quake.
"It's no problem, Sakura. No harm, no foul." Naruto chuckled. The giantess surprisingly smiled back. Annoying as Naruto could be, he was at least understanding.
Eventually the two managed to maneuver through the village streets until they reached Naruto's favorite spot. An old ramen stand by the name of Ichiraku. At first Sakura had been perplexed that Naruto had chosen such a small little stall, but after hearing him enter and greet the owner she could tell he had a lot of history here. She decided to just sit down next to the stall and wait for her partner to come back. She also hoped she wasn't completely blocking the road with her body.
After a few minutes Naruto came back out with a dopey little grin on his face. "Sakura!? What kind of ramen do you want?"
A good question, she'd never eaten here before or been much of a ramen person. She ate it occasionally but it was never something she actively sought out. "Uh... I'll just have what you're having."
Naruto's smile seemed to brighten. "Nice! Two Miso Ramens then!"
He ran back into the stall while she remained outside. All Sakura could do now was wait and take in the scenery. The village always looked nice this time of day and the bustling streets were always a sight to behold. She did at times wonder what it would be like to be small again for just one day to experience it all the way she used to. It had been so long now that she'd almost forgotten.
It was then Naruto came back out still sporting his fox like grin. "Food will be ready in ten."
