"I know. I'll cast a spell so John slowly turns into a girl, finishing on the eve of our birthday, then I'll change him back after spending the morning with my 'sister', so that nobody thinks it odd. Then when Mom reveals our secret to him, he'll know that I've had my fun. Just as Mel is about to cast her spell, a noise startles you, and Mel. Turning around, she sees Harry come in. Grinning, she then decides to cast it both you and Harry, knowing that Harry likes her, and if he wants to be around her, he needs to know. Plus the idea of a girls' night, and an all girl circle of friends out appeals to her, even if it is for one day. Carefully she checks her book for the right spell, and casts in on you and Harry. Neither of you are aware, you 're busy telling Harry about the blank book you found.
Unfortuately, Mel is too inexperienced for the spell to work properly.
