Hannah's eyes widened in fear as she saw you open the magic book. She had learned that magic was real just last week, seeing mom use magic. She had begged mom for three days straight to be given a magic book, mom finally gave in and handed her one. Only, she also gave her a stern warning.
"You are not to try any of the spells unless I am with you and do not tell john about it as boys can not use magic." she said. "Also, whatever you do DON'T LOOSE IT! If John finds that book and peers into the pages, no one will EVER see him again!"
Her fear turned to horror as she saw an eerie light shine from the pages and hit you but she was too struck with terror to speak or move. "OH NO!" she thought. "John, PLEASE! Stop looking into that book!"
To her relief, you suddenly closed the book. Only, to Hannah's surprise, you then let out a deep breath onto the coffee table. Hannah watched in awe as a panel on the top of the table opened and a thick book rose from somewhere inside. She continued to watch as you held the book close to your heart for a moment, as if you were remembering something, and opened it along side the other.
"This... This is impossible!" she heard you whisper. "They are almost identical!"
Suddenly, Hannah saw you hold out your hand and summon a small but bright flame to your hand. She had to cover her mouth with both hands to silence her own scream. Tears began to flow from Hannah's eyes as she was confused, scared, and excited all at the same time. You, a boy, was working magic!
Then, the front door opened and Hayley walked in with her hands filled with two large bags of luggage, she was finally home after a full year of being away. Seeing her, Hannah found her voice...
"HAYLEY! COME QUICK!"
Hearing Hannah's scream, you let out a loud, startled scream of your own. Fearing that you had been seen, you teleported back to your laboratory in a dull flash, just as Hayley and Hannah peered inside. As you vanished, the magic book quickly closed on its own and Hannah let out a loud, horrified scream.
