Chapter #5
Trapped in the dark
by: Unknown
You are lying on the ground on the side of Logan's empty white Van sneaker. You know his bare foot is on the other side. You failed to get his attention, and made a mistake that nearly got you killed under the unforgiving foot of a 12 year old boy. You start to think about getting up, but before you do, Logan playfully turns his shoe over, still unaware of your presence. Your world goes dark. You try to get up and walk, but you are hemmed in by damn, rugged fabric on three sides. A small amount of light trickles in through a rip in the fabric a few inches away, you look up and see a giant Vans Logo, and realize that Logan turned his shoe over on top of you. You are stuck in the moist prison of Logan's old, well worn shoes. The smell that assails your nostrils is bad enough, you can bet it will singe your nose hairs off.
Suddenly, the ceiling--the dirty, ragged, damp sole of the sneaker--comes rushing down to meet you. You are slammed down between the floor of the bus and the heel fabric on the insole of Logan's shoes, which he has skated in for countless hours during his ownership. You realize that after he turned the shoe over, he must have rested his foot on top again.
"Yuck!" you think as you remember the mud ring you saw on the outsole of his shoes a few minutes earlier. The waffle sole of these Vans must be coated in mud and grime, which means Logan's silky smooth foot sole will now be coated in sweat AND fresh mud. This really wouldn't bother you normally, but if you don't escape from your dank prison, you could very well wind up trapped under that filthy, muddy foot sole for the rest of the day.
Suddenly, Logan removes his foot and flips the shoe right side up. What happens to you?
