They soon arrived at their destination. There were trees and bushes bearing the usual fruits and berries they normally came here to eat, a few had nothing on them but leaves. They proceeded into the forest, normally they never went any deeper in, because there was never any need to, all the food they could ever want was right there. In Vincent's mind, all he figured they were going to find was just a seemingly endless forest of plain, ordinary, fruits and berries, but he had his fingers crossed.
Figuring "Hey if Desarae found a rare candy that made her like that, anything is possible." Desarae was too busy fantasizing about finding a special fruit or berry that would make her larger to think about the odds. She, like Vincent, figured
"If there was a rare candy that did this, there could also be a fruit that would do the same somewhere in this woods.” They searched for hours, finding new fruits and berries, but none of them did anything, except taste different. When they had stopped to rest they had all but given up.
"We've been searching for hours", Vincent said, "and I think we might be lost.", he smiled, "Heh, on the bright side, we won't have to worry about starving."
Desarae just sighed, in slight frustration, "I was really hoping we'd find something, I just felt so sure of it. After telling you, and you supporting me in all. I-I just felt like it was going to happen."
"Hey, hey I never said anything about giving up", Vincent said, trying to make her feel better, "while, yes today I think we might be done but, honestly I don't think we've even explored a fraction of this forest. If we try again tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after, and so on, I know we'll find something Desarae." She looked like she was about to cry.
"Aww Vincent." she rushed over to him and hugged him, again. After she opened her eyes, from enjoying the moment, she noticed something behind him. "Hey I think I see something" she walked over to some large bushes, all grown close together with some low, leafy, branches above them.
"What is it?" Vincent asked. He walked over to her, and she moved the bushes aside, revealing a hidden cave. "Wow good eye Desarae."
"Thanks" she responded, and they both went inside. It wasn't long before they saw a light up ahead. When they emerged from the cave, they were in another forest. "I have a good feeling about this place." Desarae thought to herself, Vincent was thinking the same thing.
Upon walking into this forest, they noticed it looked the same, except for the oddly colored fruits. There were a few different ones to pick from. There were bushes full of lime-green berries, the trees had these delicious looking pink fruits in them and there was one large, pale-orange, melon that could be seen. She couldn't decide what one she wanted to try, until she finally picked the...
