"This? This is something I found in the backyard. It's pretty isn't it?" asked Emma. I looked at it. It was a necklace with some kind of dragon symbol on it. It was kind of cool...yet a little creepy too.
"Um, sure. It's cool" I said, trying to make her feel good about it. It worked as she smiled.
"Really? Do you want it? I don't need it" said Emma.
"Are you sure" I asked.
"Yep, here take it! It'll look good on you, I'm sure" said Emma. I took her word for it, looping the nacklace around my neck. It was kind of cool as I stated earlier but I was feeling anxious for some reason.
Suddenly, I felt as if the thing got hot on my skin, as if it was trying to burn into it. I cringed slightly, not trying to alarm Emma.
"James, are you ok?" asked Emma. She noticed after all.
"Um, yes. I'm fine" said I, after it lessoned a bit. It was so wierd. It was like the necklace almost became fire. I looked down and sawn nothing on my chest. Maybe I was just imagining it?"
"Well, let's go downstairs" said Emma and she skipped down the stairs to the kitchen.
"Why do I feel as if nothing will be the same from here on?" I wondered to myself as I followed her.
It was true after all. I just couldn't imagine how.
