Claire and Gretchen had been walking around the carnival for hours and didn't know what to make of it. They had followed the compass' directions and arrived to find Samuel waiting for them.
They were currently stood at the front of a ring of people who were all watching a magician performing.
"I'm almost out of popcorn, Gretchen began, how about you?"
Claire looked into her own tub to see it nearly empty too. "Nearly time to go!" she replied.
"How about you young lady?"
Claire looked up startled to see the magician offering her her hand.
"Will you aid me in my final trick?"
She looked across at Gretchen who nodded eagerly. "Go on, it'll be fun!" She exclaimed, snatching the popcorn from Claire's hands.
Reluctantly she agreed and climbed up onto the stage.
"Right, for my final trick, the magician began, I'm going to transform this girl into anything the audience requests! Do I hear any suggestions?"
The audience began laughing and shouting out different things.
" A DIME"
"A FROG"
"A DOLL"
She pulled out a massive sheet which she placed over Claire's head, plunging her into near darkness. She suddenly began to feel strange as her body began to shrink. Her clothes didn't shrink with her and soon she was in complete darkness inside her own clothes.
