Decides to go back to Esmerda

Eric pauses for a moment, considering his options, then decided it was best to return to Esmerda. "No, f'nding a wizard that could h'lp is no guarantee. I hate to say it, but Esmerda is the ol'ny one who can return our bodies to us."

"Yes my little ones." Esmerada cued. "You two must come to me."

Brian could not believe what his other half had decided on. He looked back and forth between the tunnel and Eric several times. Finally, he made his own decision. "No!" he stated defiantly. "I ref'se to go with Esmerda!" His words now coming out almost normally.

It was Eric's turn to look amazed at his other's half's defiant stance. "Are you sane! She will dest'oy our human bodies!" He attempted to drag his other half toward's Esmerda, but Brian planted his feet, refusing to move with him.

They were at a stalemate. Neither was able to move one way or the other. They were trapped in their single body, their two wills struggling to force the other to move their way. But with each only able to move their respective side, neither could will the other to comply. It was a struggle that only other two-headed creatures could understand.

The two only stopped their internal struggle when they heard a deep grumbling noise coming from Esmerda. Both, temporarily forgetting their fight, curiously looked at Esmerda. She was laughing, laughing at them. "I knew placing the two of you together was a wise choice. I did not imagine that it would be a humorous one as well."
