You woke up with a start. He shook his head and then realized that things weren't quite right. When did you get in bed last night? And...why were you wearing a white t-shirt and boxers? You couldn't remember anything from what happened last night. Strange, because you know you didn't drink or do drugs. It wasn't like it was a fight or anything.
Then you notice a metal ring around your wrist. Its mostly plain, and has a single button on it.
"Huh? What's this?" You mutter. It fight tightly, and when you tried to take it off, it wouldn't budge. Not making any progress with removing it, you sighed and decided the only thing to do was press the button. As soon as you did this, a holographic image appears in front of you. Its sudden appearance caused you to jerk back in surprise.
-GREETINGS REGISTERED USER NATE HARVENT. YOU ARE NOW IN POSSESSION OF A PERSONAL ASPECT INTERCHANGING DEVICE, OR PAID FOR SHORT. THE PAID IS A TOOL THAT ALLOWS YOU TO EXCHANGE ASPECTS ABOUT YOURSELF WITH ANOTHER. USING THE PAID, YOU MAY . TO USE THE PAID, SIMPLY AIM THE DEVICE AT ANOTHER PERSON AND PRESS THE BUTTON. ONCE PRESSED, TIME WILL STOP FOR ALL BUT YOU AND OTHERS NEARBY WHO ARE IN POSSESSION OF A PAID AS WELL, AND A HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY WILL BE BROUGHT UP FOR YOUR USE. TIME WILL RESUME, AND THE CHANGES YOU HAVE SELECTED WILL IMMEDIATELY TAKE EFFECT. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT PAID WILL NOT CAUSE ANY PHYSICAL CHANGES TO EITHER THE USER OR THE TARGET.-

"What the heck?" you wondered aloud. A little confused, you stand up and then paced around the room a little. No, the device wouldn't come off. Sure, you could experiment with it, but you had to find someone first.
Wandering out of the room while scratching your head you didn't realize that your little sister Emily was there.
Thud! Slamming into each other, you have the strange feeling as you try to keep your balance that something is wrong.
Indeed, the PAID seems to have activated and Emily is suspended in fall.
"Woah!" You start, a little surprised. You wanted to reach out to stop her from falling, but now...you stop. A holographic display has come up around the PAID now as you point your hand towards your little sister, an array of options pop up.
